Credit Analyst Jobs in Iowa
A Credit Analyst in the banking industry evaluates and assesses the creditworthiness of potential customers, or organizations, to ascertain their ability to repay loans. They analyze financial data, including budget, income, and expenditure, and also evaluate credit histories. Credit Analysts use complex systems and software to assess and interpret financial data, so they can advise on the risk of offering credit. The role also involves preparing reports based on findings and presenting these to management.
Key skills a Credit Analyst should possess include strong analytical skills, good numerical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make well-judged decisions. The Certified Credit Professional (CCP) certification is highly desirable for this role. Prior job roles that can lead to a career as a Credit Analyst include Junior Credit Analyst, Loan Officer, or Financial Analyst, where the individual can gain the necessary experience in financial analysis and credit risk assessment.
