SAVANNAH LAKES VILLAGE POA, INC.
Is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant
Candidate will assist with monthly financial processes to include reconciliations and financial statement reporting for the property owner’s association.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain general ledger to include understanding of ledger structure and details
- Verify and record journal entries to general ledger accounts
- Assist with account analysis and supporting documentation of memberships and lot ownership
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Review, evaluate and assist with inventory counts and monitoring in golf and F&B to include reconciliations and working with Accounting Manager to improve processes and accuracy
- Maintain Fixed Asset schedule and overall asset addition and disposition records including monthly reporting
- Assist with sales tax analysis and reporting
- Assist with preparation of various monthly reports and schedules
- Assist with year-end audit schedules and requests for information
- Create software process documentation for accounting modules, working with other staff to gain insight and eventual backup support if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
The duties and responsibilities of this position are not limited to this description and the accountant may perform a combination of other functions when needed.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
(E) 1. Requires knowledge and understanding of basic accounting procedures.
(E) 2. Ability to maintain accurate financial records including preparation of reports and spreadsheets.
(E) 3. Attention to detail and good organizational skills required
(E) 4. Must have ability to communicate effectively
(E) 5. Ability to understand POA procedures, including Covenants and Restrictions and other internal documents.
(E) 6. Comfortable with using ERP systems and Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel.

SALARY : $60,000
REQUIREMENTS:
Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting position, preferably working in a POA/HOA or related environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required
